    VLC is great open source Success with millions of users around the world. It has the wide range of video codecs and available for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. It is highly portable free and open source software developed by VideoLAN. Latest version of VLC media player was 2.0 “two flower” Which is released on 18 February 2012, this time it has some cool new feature with changes in interface. Video codec library is also updated and this time it will support almost every codes, you can play full HD video without any distortion. There are also some major changes in interface this time interface is little soft and cozy, volume slide in full screen is comparatively small. Fast play and slow play buttons are situated in right in front of volume slider. A new cool feature is you can lock the controller for full screen mode. Today i will show you How To: Install VLC 2.0 (Two flower) On Ubuntu 11.10/12.04(Linux) Video Tutorial-1.
     According to Ubuntu Release plan – you won’t get the latest version of VLC Media player i.e vlc 2.0 by default on older/current stable version of Ubuntu i.e in 11.10/10.10 etc (Although in 12.04 LTS, it will be there in the official package repository). So if you want to try VLC 2.0 then either install from source which may be very annoying due to some weird dependencies or use a PPA (that’s what you’re going to do). Let’s get started...

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:n-muench/vlc
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc
